Webinar: What makes events traumatic, and what makes them less so: how trauma affects children and young people

Presented by David Trickey, Consultant Clinical Psychologist

19 September 2023 - 19 September 2023 5pm Online Webinar

We hope you will be able to join us on Tuesday 19 September for what promises to be a very interesting and informative webinar on trauma: what emotional trauma is, the response of children and how we, professionals working with traumatised children and their parents in the family justice system, can better understand it . The webinar will be of interest to any lawyer involved in children proceedings whether public or private.
We are delighted to introduce our presenter David Trickey. He is a leading Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has specialised in working with traumatised children, young people and their families since 2000. He is Co-Director of the UK Trauma Council and leads an NHS team working with Children in Care. As well as direct clinical work, he continues to train and supervise others working with traumatised children, young people and their families. He acts as an expert witness predominantly in the family courts, particularly where families have experienced domestic homicide. He was a member of the committee responsible for the 2018 revision of the NICE Guidelines for PTSD. In all of his roles he both contributes to and draws heavily on, the research literature.
