Jamie Niven-Phillips

Co Vice-Chair

Jamie qualified as a solicitor in 2011 and currently works as an in-house lawyer at Cafcass. He is a children law specialist and prior to joining Cafcass he was a member of the Law Society's Children Law Accreditation scheme and gained broad experience acting for parents, children and family members involved in both private and public law children cases in all levels of court up to the Court of Appeal. In his current role and alongside other duties to Cafcass as an organisation, Jamie represents children within complex private law proceedings through Children’s Guardians in the Cafcass High Court Team. Jamie undertakes most of his own advocacy, mostly in the High Court due to the nature of his caseload. Jamie was awarded the ALC’s 'Outstanding Newcomer Award' in 2016.
